Clinton Kelly, co-host of TLC’s What Not Wear came to town last Thursday to host a runway show at Macy’s Fashion Valley. He chose women from the audience and critiqued their outfits. His main comment was ~ “Ladies, doesn’t anyone wear accessories in San Diego?” I often ask that same question myself!

His runway show featured clothing choices for all body types and Clinton explained how to take outfits from business to evening and casual to business.

The show sold out instantly and the crowd was ecstatic. Macy’s added more seats the day of the show to try to accommodate the audience but there were still folks standing!

Ruffles are on the A list this fall!

Clinton stressed that women should love and accept our bodies as they are. He explained that models on billboards and magazines are not even close to being as real as the table on the stage. Model photos are touched and retouched until they don’t even resemble their natural form. He feels it is important that we work with the assetts that we have and not compare ourselves to the “unreal” illusions of models. Thanks Clinton for that dose of reality and showing us that real women in all shapes and sizes can look fabulous on the runway!
