Spring - the season of change. The turning point millions around the globe look forward to.

No more snow. No more frost.

It's a time when the world around us bursts into colors and scents. It nudges us to shake off the winter blues and take charge of our days. The sun’s out, and this newfound energy is buzzing in you - the perfect time to refresh your living space.

But your little refresh doesn’t have to break the bank. Decor doesn’t have to be costly to be good.

That’s why we’re talking about DIY projects - something you can do for yourself to make yourself more comfy in your home!

Ready to source some ideas?

Let’s get into it!

While 7 project ideas may not encapsulate everything you can do at home, it’s a great starting point. Here’s what you can create:

  • A Spring Centerpiece

What’s spring without some flowers? Take the floral scents to your table and create a stunning centerpiece using fresh flowers cut from your garden or bought from the local flower shop. Then, you can put them in a decorative vase or container on your coffee or dining table. If you want, add some greenery and branches for a more natural, rustic look.

Depending on how long the flowers last, you may need to change them out every few days so that your room always smells fresh.

  • A Floral Wreath

If placing a vase with flowers on your table isn’t creative enough, get your hands dirty and make a DIY floral wreath for your front door. This idea gives you lots of freedom - you can use artificial plants or fresh flowers for a thriving element on your door.

Plus, it’s an effortless task - arrange the flowers and greenery on a wreath, secure them with floral wire or hot glue, and hang them to greet your guests. Easy!

  • A Faux Green Wall

This suggestion might be unusual if you’ve never heard of these decor elements, but it’s about time you do. A faux green wall is a ready-made product brimming with lifelike artificial plants that you can install on any surface. It usually comes with a pliable grid that can take staples, screws, and hammers.

Choose an empty wall, get an affordable artificial vertical garden, affix it to the wall, and enjoy the view of low-maintenance greenery
  • A Watering Can Vase

If you have a yard or any plants at home, you’re likely to have an old watering can lying around. Grab it, get some waterproof paint, and add some color to your old can. We recommend painting it a lovely vibrant color like pastel pink, mint green, or baby blue. Or, you can leave it as is - depends on your preference.

Then, fill the watering can with water and arrange your favorite spring flowers inside the can, letting them spill out over the spout. Enrich the arrangement with some leaves, twigs, or branches. And voila - you’ve brought some farmhouse charm to your home!

  • A Spring Tablescape

Not in the mood to buy or build anything? We get it, sometimes you need an easy solution. And we’ve got just the thing - set the table with a theme in mind!

Your tablescape shouldn’t get attention only when you’re expecting guests or getting ready for dinner. Setting your table and displaying your favorite fancy plates and cutlery is a little thing that can bring you so much joy.

Use colorful table linens and seasonal decor like eggs and bunny napkins, and arrange flowers in small vases or mason jars. Then, scatter candles and place cards to complete the look.

  • A Basket of Hanging Plants

Adamant about wanting plants inside but worried about pets or toddlers getting a little too close for comfort? There’s a DIY project that can solve this, too!

Brighten up a corner of your home with a basket of hanging plants. These can be real or artificial ones mimicking trailing vines like ivy, pothos, and spider plants. Arrange them in a woven basket, hang them from a ceiling hook or bracket, and let the vines cascade down. Don’t be scared to fill the entire basket. When it comes to plants - the more, the merrier.

  • Reupholstered Furniture

Before you say this is expensive, we know. But we’re not telling you to get it professionally done. Instead, give old furniture a fresh new look for spring by reupholstering it yourself.

First, choose a fabric that complements your decor but is different enough from the one you use now. Cut the fabric to size, stretch it over the piece of furniture you’ve chosen, and staple it to secure it into place.

Yes, all you need is a staple gun and nice fabric. Then, trim the excess fabric and step back to take in the difference this made for your space.

Finishing Thoughts

As spring blooms outside, your creativity should do the same inside.

These 7 easy spring DIY projects will help you get in touch with the season, save you money, and provide you the satisfaction of knowing you made something beautiful with your own hands.
