If you have children, it’s very important to teach them to put things away and make sure every object has a home. This lesson will not only help you while they’re living under your roof, but it will help them when they leave the nest, especially if they live in a small apartment or dorm room.
One great way to tackle a lot of clutter is to go through one room at a time, gathering items to throw away, put away, and donate. Purge as much as you can, and if you don’t need something, don’t buy it! Even if something seems like a good deal, you’re not saving money if you’re buying things you don’t need and won’t use.
