Are you bogged down by paper piles and clutter, a stuffed email inbox or other bad habits? Then join us on August 5 for our next First Friday Breakfast, which will feature professional organizer Kathi Burns, founder of add Space To Your Life, and the writer of “How To Master Your Muck,” a book that teaches people how to overcome “muck.”

This definitive ‘how to’ session will provide solutions for the most common areas in life where people get stuck and feel overwhelmed: paper piles, and technology strangleholds. You will leave this breakfast with simple and powerful methods to help you take control of your paperwork and inbox so that you can alleviate overwhelm and focus on living the life of your dreams.

Burns has helped streamline systems at several Fortune 500 companies including Intuit, Logitech and Hewlett Packard. She’s also a motivational speaker, an image consultant, a special correspondent for Fox and NBC morning news shows and a regular contributing expert for “Woman’s Day” and “Better Homes and Gardens” and a columnist whose work has appeared in the Huffington Post.

She describes muck as the things that makes a person “unproductive, unsuccessful or unfulfilled,” including overloaded schedules, an outmoded image, clutter, paper piles, unproductive habits and a busy email inbox.

First Friday Breakfast is the Chamber’s premiere networking and business promotional event, and one of the most regularly attended monthly programs. The breakfast will be from 7 to 9 a.m. May 6 at the Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach, 6450 Carlsbad Blvd.

Tickets for the event are $30 for Chamber members and $50 for prospective members registered by July 29. After July 29, the price for members is $50 and at the door tickets are $55 for all. At the door, seating is not guaranteed and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Prospective members should call Kristina McMahon, business development manager, at 760.931.8400 ext 218 if you are interested in attending the breakfast. Tabletop exhibits or Soapbox presentations are available for chamber members only to promote their business for $70 each, which includes one breakfast, and must be reserved in advance by calling the chamber at (760) 931-8400.
