This Friday September 6, 2013, you will have the chance to help poor people and get rid of your old eyeglasses, sunglasses, reading glasses and children’s glasses.
Simply gather them up and leave them in a sandwich-size plastic bag for your mail carrier, who will collect and deliver them to the Lions Club Recycle for Sight drive, organized locally by Alice Tana of the San Diego Lions Clubs.
Caroline Dipping reported in the U-T that “Lions Club volunteers will sterilize and calibrate the glasses and distribute them to adults and children at special events and at clinics in low-income areas locally. Some of the glasses will also be sent to Lions Clubs in Vallejo and around the world.”
