Who is Patrick Carney?
Patrick Carney was born and raised in New York City and started hanging out in the West Village around 1964, drawing and painting the world of rock and roll. He became a documentary artist of some of rock's most celebrated musicians, travelling the United States to concerts and painting whatever inspired him. Known as The Artiste, he shares the stories behind those chance meetings at his art shows. Patrick studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York, where painter Chuck Close was one of his teachers. He has run a weekly mastermind on Tuesday mornings for 41 years, and during the pandemic he created drawing lessons for children.
